When I was born in 1965 at CBM Hospital, my father Jampana Venkayya (Venkateswara Rao) was running a vegetable market in Uyyuru. By the time I graduated from Tadanki Zilla Parishad High School in 1977, after the Emergency, the former Prime Minister, Mrs. Indira Gandhi, had joined the AG&S in Uyyuru. I attended a public meeting held at G College and was fascinated by politics. With the blessings of the then General Manager Injeti Jagannadharao, I joined the KCP in 1980 as a General Worker and took charge of civil engineering construction work.
